IPR TO THE RESCUE IN WATER CONTAMINATION EMERGENCY

A quick response recently saved the day for an IPR customer, who wanted an urgent contaminated water bypass.
“We immediately despatched a pump rental quote following the customer’s name, and specified four Sykes CP150 medium head dewatering pumps,” says Andre Strydom, rental growth supervisor at IPR. “These had been delivered and commissioned on web site the next day, with 1,500 m of one hundred fifty mm lay-flat hose and all different needed equipment.”
Time was of the essence, as these pumps had to offer 4 bypass water strains for a contaminated water source which could not be launched into the river system. The four Sykes pumps easily maintained a relentless circulate fee of one hundred ninety m³ per hour over a distance of seven-hundred m. They ran on a 24-hour foundation to ensure a continuing water flow via the 4 pipelines.
Strydom says the Sykes CP150 dewatering pumps have been ideal for the job. They offer a most head of 60 m with a circulate rate of 172 litres per second. It is also capable of handling solids with particle sizes of up to 77 mm.
“The Sykes CP150 models also function sophisticated computerized priming capabilities,” he says. “These are primarily based on a Venturi system that can ship suction lifts of up to nine metres.”
The robust building of the pumps ensures optimum reliability and lengthy life. Importantly, they’ll run dry for prolonged periods of time without damage. The pumps also boast low gas utilization and decrease upkeep costs, and may function in ‘snore’ circumstances.
“The Sykes CP models – or the contractors’ range – are designed to fulfill the heavy obligation demands of the construction, mining and rental industries,” he says. “With pump efficiencies up to 83%, they supply quicker and more efficient pumping, resulting in savings to the tip user.”
There was extra to come from the identical customer. Just a month later, they called again after detecting further contamination of more dams. Once once more, there was no time to lose. Urgent pumping was required to manage the risk of contaminated discharge.
“This time, the need was for four high head Sykes XH150 rental pumps,” says Strydom. “They had been delivered on the same day, with 2,800 m of lay-flat hose with clamps and straight connectors.”
Each of these Sykes extra high head pumps delivered a circulate of 220 mᵌ/h over 1,200 m. He highlights that the pumps may be primed with long suction hoses and may manage suction lifts of as a lot as nine metres.
The Sykes XH150 dewatering pumps, offering a most head of 170 m with a maximum move rate of one hundred forty litres per second and able to handling solids with particle sizes of up to forty three mm, have been more than suitable for the duty.
“The Sykes XH150 pump presents computerized priming and solids handling functionality,” he says. “ เครื่องมือใช้วัดความดัน has top-of-the-line shaft stiffness ratios of any automated priming pump in the marketplace.”
The massive fuel tanks on the Sykes range of dewatering pumps facilitate continuous pumping for more than 24 hours, which according to Strydom makes refuelling that much simpler as this only needs to be done as soon as in a 24 hour cycle.
