Romance scam: Dutchman files 4 million baht lawsuit in opposition to Thai ex-girlfriend

In another romance rip-off case, a Dutchman is trying to get 4 million baht from his former girlfriend, a lady from Sakhon Nakhon province in northeast Thailand, who he says deceived him into sending her hundreds of thousands for land and a home before abandoning him.
The Thai girl says it’s the Dutchman who is within the incorrect for starting a relationship with her when he was already married to a different lady.
Yesterday, sixty two year previous Peter from Holland, travelled to Udon Thani Provincial Court with well-known lawyer Kirssada “Nobi” Lohitdee to file a 4 million baht lawsuit against an unnamed Thai girl.
The Dutchman claims the lady deceived him into considering the pair would have a future collectively, which he needed to cough up money for.
Blinded by love, Peter bought his home in Holland and sent the cash to his Thai girlfriend. He says he sent her 5 million baht in whole.
One day, she cut ties with Peter, modified jobs and moved provinces. The couple’s romance ended however Peter never obtained his money back, he claims.
One month in the past, Peter posted a video on TikTok telling his story…
“My title is Peter. What I am about to tell all of you is a real story. I met a lady from Sakhon Nakhon (in Isaan) through Thai Cupid. We talked and later met in Udon Thani province, where she labored. She began to speak about our future. I bought her a gold necklace and planned our wedding.
“I didn’t have the funds for to purchase land and a home in Udon Thani so we agreed that I would sell my house in Holland. I bought it and sent the money to her, for our future.
“I couldn’t travel to Thailand from 2020 to 2021 because of the pandemic however I saved sending her money until I was broke. I had to borrow money from the bank and my household as a result of she promised she would return the cash.
“I tried every thing for our house and land but I didn’t hear from her after that. She didn’t return the money, modified jobs, and moved to different provinces. I was shocked and had an enormous downside with my family and the bank.”
The ex-girlfriend claims that Peter is exaggerating. She says he only sent her 300,000 – four hundred,000 baht, which she is keen to give again.
She says it was she who was deceived. She claims she left Peter when she found out he was already married to another Thai lady.
On February four, attorneys helped Peter to file a fraud case – with financial institution slips and movies as evidence – at Ban Dung Police Station.
The alleged love scammer was summoned to acknowledge her expenses on Valentine’s Day. But Deadline didn’t present up. The police will summon her again on February 28.
As for the charges, the police have not confirmed precisely which costs had been filed in opposition to the woman.
Lawyer Nobi mentioned, “I need this case to be an example for Thai individuals not to act this way, especially with foreigners. It damages Thailand’s popularity.”
Peter said that he won’t be falling for a romance scam once more. He says he is aware of that not all Thai persons are dangerous individuals, and he’s unsure whether he’s keen so far a Thai again.
He stated he’ll keep in Thailand till the top of the month after which fly back to Holland till there is another court case..
